Nerd Video Woes

If you've noticed that I've been spamming you're inbox, you know that I have been spending the last two-and-a-half weeks working on a video for the coolest people ever to inhabit DT (go nerds!). I'm using a program that came with my first digital camera. It's called VideoImpression. Its an ArcSoft product, a company I've been generally impressed with. However, with this recent video I have worked well beyond its intended use, and pushed the abilities of this simple 'drag and drop' video editing program to the edge. I think I've graduated, but obtaining software that I can do more with would be expensive. The solution, I believe, is Linux. Ubuntu Studio is a new release I intend to take advantage of. This operating system includes excellent, open-source software for photo editing, video editing, CG imaging, and music producing. The moment I have the chance, I'm going to get it. Then I'll be on a whole other level, and the movies I make will have much more potential for coolness.

I posted some additional information on Ubuntu Studio on my blog the other day, including links to some sites that describe the individual software packages contained in the distro.
